Babette Oberländer's locket

Babette Oberländer was the mother of Richard Morawetz' father, Ludwig. The picture below is a photo of a locket owned by Babette Oberländer containing pictures of her husband, Philip, her parents, Anna and Jacob Oberländer, and her nine children. Richard's son Herbert obtained the locket from his second cousin, Gertrude Kurth, who found it among her mother's belongings after she died.

Interestingly, a very confusing family relationship arose when Babette's brother Moritz married her daughter Marie. This meant that Babette was both the mother and sister-in-law of Marie Oberländer!
