Sunday, 27 October 1957 in Canadian Masaryktown, a celebration of October 28,
1918, the most remarkable Czech celebration that ever took place in Toronto. The
organizers were the 24th Chapter of the Czech Association in co-operation with
the Masaryk house all Czech democratic organization in Toronto.

It took place in the Banquet Hall of Masaryk town, and many people had to stand
outside. Lunch was served. Prominent people that participated were: Honourable
Paul Martin, Mayor Nathan Philips, his wife, judge J. Curry with his wife, Dr.
J. Haydash, MP for Toronto, Reeve of Scarboro Mr. J. Campbell with his wife,
Miss Grant, Mr. Thompson, Mrs. D. Jannings, W. Jan Gelner and many other
Canadian guests.

The main speaker of the celebration was brother Richard Morawetz who spoke in
english about the importance of today's day and in Czech talked about his friend
Jan Masaryk. The human cordial relationship that brother Morawetz had with T.G.
Masaryk and his whole family captivated the audience. The full speech and text
