Fantasy - Dirge - Scherzo


The Dirge movement of this symphony is dedicated to violinst Elie Spivak, who died in July 1960. He and his wife, Hilda, were close friends of the family.

Walter Susskind conducted the Dirge from this symphony with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Chilean National Orchestra and the Prague Philharmonic.
